Longevity

With props to the likes of LL, KRS-One, Beastie Boys, and a whole lot of others, in your own opinion, how long do you think it ought to be before a Rap artist can attain logevity status.

Or would it be on the basis of constant recording, airplay, and Billboard chart movement?
